Description

Image 3 of the Istanbul Revisit series is only a few steps away from the 2nd image. On the right you can see the building that is on the left in that image. On the left we see the bridge that was painted bright yellow/white in the nineties. It has been renovated and there was still/again work done in 2024. The clocktower is interesting, it has been remodelled but we can clearly see the outlines of the old tower. Also there is a sign advertising the 2004 Olympics that Istanbul did a bid for but did not win (the 2004 Olympic games were held in Athens, Greece). The traffic situation has not changed much as this is still a very busy crossing. The bridge in it’s old colours is a clear image that crawled as a caterpillar through the city as can be seen in the book and pages of ‘Istanbul Tokapi’

The image is made from two pictures that have 28 years between them. See the full story here: Istanbul revisited 28 years later
