Continuing the exploration set in motion with the earlier Senses Studies, the third piece expands the visual language of the series by introducing a vibrant, multi-coloured foundation. Departing from the monochromatic gold and white bases of the previous works, this study embraces the full dynamism of the primary and secondary colours — red, blue, yellow, green, orange, and violet — creating a lively and charged contemporary abstract graffiti artwork.

I began by layering these colours onto the canvas in an intuitive, almost chaotic manner, letting them bleed, overlap, and interact freely. The resulting surface thrums with raw energy, capturing the sensory overload of modern life. Over this bold ground, I applied 3D-printed templates once again, masking fragments of the colourful field before spraying black paint across the canvas.

As with the previous studies, the templates were shifted slightly after each spray to produce blurred, ghostly outlines. A white layer followed while the black was still wet, encouraging the colours to soften, mix, and form new tones at their boundaries. Further fragmented black layers deepened the complexity, weaving structure into the otherwise riotous colour.

The random splatters and paint bursts remained an essential part of the process, reinforcing the sense of immediacy and spontaneity. Yet here, against the vivid, multicoloured background, the tension between chaos and mindfulness is even more pronounced — a reminder that in the overwhelming sensory noise of the world, moments of clarity must still be sought out.

In this third study, the Senses project reaches a new height of visual intensity, reflecting not just fleeting impressions, but the overwhelming fullness of experience itself.
