The Dog in Goggles
The underpass is a corridor of posters, layered so thick the walls have gone soft at the edges. Someone has sprayed yellow letters across the ceiling and covered the lamp in stickers. Out on the road the traffic comes in a slow wave, past red and white barriers and a sign that says 30. At the lights a cyclist in patterned trousers takes a long sip from her cup, and in the basket of her bike a curly dog waits in red goggles.
