Istanbul28Y11 Imperial Gate South side

650,00 1.000,00

The gate was renovated. The overgrowth was cleared. The street vendors are gone and the fountain is new. And yet the gate lines up perfectly across 28 years. The one fixed point through which everything else has visibly changed and visibly remained the same.

The Istanbul28Y11 Imperial Gate South side is almost the end of the Istanbul Revisit series. The gate has been renovated and cleared of the overgrowth of 1996. The same view through the gate looking back 28 years. The gate always has been an attraction to visit. The square and fountain off to the right have been renewed and no shops are seen in 2024 where there used to be many street vendors. The gates matches up perfectly and the renewal is very visible. This image shows me how the city has changed and still remains the same.
