Walk along the historic tramline from Parezes to Moniz.

In this Tram 28 Lisbon photo walk, I reversed the route of Tram 28—starting at its final stop in Prazeres and walking back toward Praça Martim Moniz. Along the way, I captured images of the vibrant neighborhoods the tram passes through, including Alfama, Baixa, and Chiado. This alternative perspective reveals a more intimate side of Lisbon, blending everyday life with stunning architecture, rich culture, and the iconic yellow-and-white trams that define the city’s charm.

Tram 28 is one of Lisbon’s most iconic and historic tramlines, long used by locals as a vital means of transport. Today, it’s also a must-see tourist attraction, offering a scenic ride through some of Lisbon’s most charming and historic neighborhoods. Traditionally starting in the hilltop district of Graça, Tram 28 winds through narrow cobblestone streets, steep hills, colourful buildings, and lively local markets.
