Description
Senses Graffiti 01 is loud, colourful conceptual graffiti art driven by movement and sensory overload. The background is built from layers of spray-painted colour, with reds, yellows, greens, blues, and purples bleeding into one another. Splashes and specks break across the surface, creating a feeling of speed, spontaneity, and constant motion, as if multiple sensations are happening at once.
Floating across this energetic field are the recurring word pairings from the artist’s senses series: HEAR&LISTEN, LEARN&KNOW, LOOK&SEE, SMELL&SCENT, TASTE&SAVOUR, and TOUCH&FEEL. The words sit like fragments or signs, slightly tilted and scattered, with no clear centre or hierarchy. The viewer reads them by moving around the piece rather than focusing on a single point.
The graffiti style is deliberate. It introduces tension between fast, impulsive mark-making and language that asks for calm, reflection, and awareness. Paint and text push against each other, amplifying both experiences. The result is a work that explores how we process the world through our senses, and how subtle shifts in language can reshape understanding.
